Wear it Purple Day 2022

Today is Wear it Purple Day which strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering, and inclusive environments for LGTBQIA+ youth.

It highlights the issues they face whilst showing them that they have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming.

This year’s theme is ‘Still me, still human’. The message being that people tend to focus on labels, the news story, the target or data and forget what we truly are – human.

We encourage everyone to wear purple today to show the LGBTQIA+ youth part of our community that you see them, you support them, and you respect them.

SMFNC participates in Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Challenge

We’re teaming up with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood over the next 3 months to give life by giving blood as part of the Football and Netball Club blood challenge.

All it takes is for you to give blood or plasma from now until 31 October, and your donation will count towards our club’s Lifeblood team tally!

Let’s take our competitive drive from the field to the donor centre, so we can prove that we are the most generous football and netball club in Australia.

To give blood or plasma call 13 14 95 or book online at lifeblood.com.au. Our nearest donor centre is in Bundoora.

You can even make a team booking so you and your mates can donate blood together! Take a selfie when you’re there and share it on socials using #lifebloodau.

Don’t forget to check your eligibility to donate here.

See the below for instructions on how to make sure your donation is counted as part of our Lifeblood team!
