Senior Women win Grand Final!

In an incredible achievement that will be marked in our Club’s history, the Senior Women’s team has emerged victorious in NFNL Division 2 Grand Final!

Last year’s loss in the Grand Final could have discouraged the team, but it instead fuelled their determination to come back stronger. From day one of pre-season, the Senior Women’s team set their sights on the Grand Final trophy. They turned their disappointment into motivation and succeeded in achieving their goal.

This simply shows their sheer determination, seamless teamwork, and unwavering commitment; they are an example to us all.

Behind every victory is an incredible off-field team. The coaches, trainers, runners and everyone else who volunteered to help this season all played a pivotal role in the team’s success.

Congratulations to the Senior Women’s team for making Club history!

Huon Macgibbon named NFNL Young Gun

The News Corp Sports Newsroom annually spotlights the Northern Football and Netball League’s (NFNL) most promising under-23 talents, casting a spotlight on those set to shape the league’s landscape for years to come.

This year we were please to see that, our very own, Huon ‘Sauce’ MacGibbon has been named in the Herald Sun Leader’s “Top 50 young guns to watch in the NFNL.”

“Played all 17 games last year on his way to becoming arguably the Burra’s (sic) No.1 key defender and has featured in every game so far this season too. However, importantly, has upped his influence, going from just two mentions in the best in 2022 to seven this year.” – Ben Higgins, News Corp

Huon’s inclusion in this list is a testament to his unwavering dedication, skill, and the significant impact he has made within our Club and the league as a key defender.
