Women’s Health Week 2023

Welcome to Women’s Health Week, a time dedicated to empowering women to take control of their wellbeing.

At our club, we emphasise the holistic wellbeing of our female and diverse members. Join us in celebrating this year’s Women’s Health Week with a heartfelt commitment to caring for the women who make our sporting club exceptional.

This year’s theme, ‘Grow Your Knowledge,’ is all about supporting women to make informed decisions about their health with information that’s easy to understand.

There’ll be a new topic each day to help you and/or the women in your life stay well. Today’s topic is ‘Check me out,’ reminding women that getting regular health checks is one of the best ways to protect your health. Read the guide on what health checks you need and when.

Check the Jean Hailes website and social media for daily updates on new topics and useful resources.

As we celebrate Women’s Health Week, St Mary’s reaffirms its commitment to caring for the women who contribute so much to our community. We understand that women’s health encompasses physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, and we’re here to support our members every step of the way.

Together, we’ll continue to champion women’s health, both on and off the field, and ensure that the women of our club lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

A Historic Victory: Our Senior Men’s Maiden Division 2 Finals Win

Our senior men’s team clinched their first-ever Division 2 Finals win on Sunday in an incredible feat over South Morang.

Our senior men’s team had been competing in Division 2 for several years now, always striving to improve and inching closer to their ultimate goal of winning a Grand Final one day. Each season brought its own set of challenges including a worldwide pandemic, but our team persevered, and their hard work is starting to pay off.

It has been a long time coming and it is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our players, coaches, and volunteers over the years.

Read the write up about our win in The Leader.

Inducting our inaugural Life Members

We’re pleased to share we’re inducting our first ever Life Members at our 2023 Presentation Night.

Our Club wouldn’t be the great place it is today without a team of incredibly dedicated people, and it’s time we honour their passion and commitment.

Those receiving Life Membership will be contacted shortly.

Stay tuned for details in coming months on the Life Member process in future.

Jaga Jaga hosts an incredible night to celebrate Grand Final win

Thank you to local bar Jaga Jaga for hosting the Women’s Grand Final After Party and for your support of women’s sport this season.

It was the perfect sunny weather for an incredible afternoon (and night) at the new rooftop bar. From the best cocktails to live music and the amazing staff, it was the perfect way to end a sensational day and football season.

We’re so glad to have local businesses in our community who are as passionate about women’s sport as us. We look forward to many more good times at Jaga Jaga.

Senior Women win Grand Final!

In an incredible achievement that will be marked in our Club’s history, the Senior Women’s team has emerged victorious in NFNL Division 2 Grand Final!

Last year’s loss in the Grand Final could have discouraged the team, but it instead fuelled their determination to come back stronger. From day one of pre-season, the Senior Women’s team set their sights on the Grand Final trophy. They turned their disappointment into motivation and succeeded in achieving their goal.

This simply shows their sheer determination, seamless teamwork, and unwavering commitment; they are an example to us all.

Behind every victory is an incredible off-field team. The coaches, trainers, runners and everyone else who volunteered to help this season all played a pivotal role in the team’s success.

Congratulations to the Senior Women’s team for making Club history!

Connecting with the Junior Club: Senior Head Coach speaks at Business Luncheon

We had a fantastic time attending and participating in the St Mary’s Junior Football Club Business Luncheon yesterday with Anthony Koutufides and Peter Daicos.

Thank you to the Junior Club for inviting us along to speak. It was great for our Senior Head Coach Fab Carelli to have an opportunity to chat about the transition for players to our Senior Club. We can’t wait to see more Juniors at the Seniors Club one day soon.
