Fab Carelli is returning as our Senior Men’s head coach for 2024!
After our best season in Division 2, reaching the finals for the first time and coming just one win shy of the grand final, we’re aiming for even more success next season with Fab’s in-depth knowledge of our Club and the game.
Congratulations to Jeremiah Antypas, Rory Hanlon and Tane Cotter for their well-deserved recognition in the NFNL Division 2 Team of the Year!
It’s fantastic to see them being acknowledged by the league for their outstanding contributions which saw the team make their first finals debut.
Jeremiah and Tane’s knack for goal-scoring and Rory’s exceptional skills in the midfield have made a significant impact on the team’s success this season.
Here’s to more success for Jeremiah, Rory, Tane, and the entire team in the future!
Today St Mary’s is supporting R U OK? Day to remind everyone to stay connected and make asking, ‘R U OK?’ a part of our everyday.
The mental demands of sport can be just as taxing as the physical demands. Success in sport is often defined by winning and the pressure to succeed can be overwhelming. The competitive nature of sport can also foster a stressful environment, and the culture of many sports dictates that athletes should be “tough” both physically and mentally which can discourage players from seeking help for mental health issues.
So this year, we’re asking everyone to join us and to let the people you care about know you’re here, to really hear them. Asking R U OK? is the first step, but you also need to genuinely listen to what comes next.
Listening and giving someone your time might be just what they need to help them through.
See our earlier post for resources to help you through these conversations.
On Thursday 14th September we’re supporting R U OK? Day to remind everyone to stay connected and make asking, ‘R U OK?’ a part of our everyday.
This year, R U OK? is calling on all of us to let the people you care about know you’re here, to really hear them. Asking R U OK? is the first step, but you also need to genuinely listen to what comes next.
R U OK? conducted research to understand what a meaningful R U OK? conversation looks like for Australians in 2023. People commonly mentioned three things:
Trust: they need to know the person they speak to is someone they trust, and, for many, someone they are close to.
Authenticity: they want to know the person asking them genuinely wants to hear answer.
Environment: people prefer to have these conversations in a private space with enough time to share what they want to say.
By taking the time for an R U OK? conversation and genuinely listening with an open mind, we can all help the people in our world feel supported and connected.
Here’s resources to help you be prepared for R U OK? Day this year:

Welcome to Women’s Health Week, a time dedicated to empowering women to take control of their wellbeing.
At our club, we emphasise the holistic wellbeing of our female and diverse members. Join us in celebrating this year’s Women’s Health Week with a heartfelt commitment to caring for the women who make our sporting club exceptional.
This year’s theme, ‘Grow Your Knowledge,’ is all about supporting women to make informed decisions about their health with information that’s easy to understand.
There’ll be a new topic each day to help you and/or the women in your life stay well. Today’s topic is ‘Check me out,’ reminding women that getting regular health checks is one of the best ways to protect your health. Read the guide on what health checks you need and when.
As we celebrate Women’s Health Week, St Mary’s reaffirms its commitment to caring for the women who contribute so much to our community. We understand that women’s health encompasses physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, and we’re here to support our members every step of the way.
Together, we’ll continue to champion women’s health, both on and off the field, and ensure that the women of our club lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
Our senior men’s team clinched their first-ever Division 2 Finals win on Sunday in an incredible feat over South Morang.
Our senior men’s team had been competing in Division 2 for several years now, always striving to improve and inching closer to their ultimate goal of winning a Grand Final one day. Each season brought its own set of challenges including a worldwide pandemic, but our team persevered, and their hard work is starting to pay off.
It has been a long time coming and it is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our players, coaches, and volunteers over the years.
