Pride Month 2025

No matter your gender, sexuality, or background, everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported — both on and off the field at St Mary’s.

Last year, we explored the meaning behind the different Pride flags. This year, we’re asking our members to focus on using inclusive language.

Language is powerful. It can be discriminatory, harmful, and limiting — and the way others describe us can have a huge impact on our health and wellbeing.

Inclusive language means using words that show respect for people of all sexes, genders, sexualities, and backgrounds.

When communication isn’t inclusive, it can lead to discrimination and exclusion — especially for LGBTIQA+ people in sport and community spaces.

At St Mary’s, our words help shape our culture. Every one of us has a role in making this club a safe, welcoming place for all.

That’s why we’re sharing tips from the Levi’s x Minus18 Guide to Inclusive Language, to help us all be better teammates, allies, and community members.
